Yes it is correct in staing that teachers in regular ed classrooms are feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work they do on a regular basis. I think it is reasonable to think that they will feel slightly unfavorable about putting a child with disabilities in their classroom. These teachers will probably think that they shouldn't have children with disabilities in their classroom because somehwere in their mind will be if I wanted to work with special ed children I would have been a speical ed teacher. I don't think every regular ed teacher will have this same reaction but I do fell that the teachers that have a hard time completing all their current duties will feel extremely stressed and not inviting to the thought of teahcing cildren with disabilities. Now the teachers that are for the full includsion process will feel that putting a child with disabilities in their class will be a struggle, but a struggle that can be mastered. however, I don't think anyone should expect anything when it comes to putting a child with disabilites in their class. This is because not every child with a disabilty is mentally retarded so making the assumption is more like judging a book by its cover. In conclusion, all regular ed teachers will infact be able to provide for a child with disabilities, but expecting them to provide for them on their own without any help is expecting to much. If everyone goes in with an open mind and a positive attitude I think any regular ed teacher can provide and educate a child with disabilities in their class.
